Texas Holdem Starting Hands | Which Ones To Play

The Texas holdem starting hands are based on the analysis of the types of two card hands that are dealt initially to the players. These hands are given rating according to their power and can be considered to be divided into three major groupings based on their strength. The strength of these hands is very much dependent on the luck of the draw and is vital to making a hand that is strong and competitive.

Texas holdem starting hands are classed into the groups strongest starting hands, medium strength starting hands and other conditional starting hands. They are based on the properties of the cards such as if they are face cards as well as the pairing of the cards. If the cards dealt are pairs of face cards these are considered to be strong cards and greatly increase the odds of the game in the favor of the holder of these cards. This is perhaps the strongest possible combination.

Hole cards that are composed of other face cards such as a combination of an ace and another face card are also considered to be good starting hands especially when they are of the same suit. Other combinations of unsuited face cards are also considered to belong to the top group of strongest starting hands.

The medium strength staring hands are combinations of face cards and tens belonging to the same suit. The grouping also includes pairs of cards such as two nines, two eights of two sevens. Any two high cards can also be placed in this group as medium starting hands. The grouping also considers aces and other medium suited cards such as combinations of an ace and a nine belonging to the same suit. There is also another group that falls into this class and these are the medium suited connectors. This is where there are two cards that belong to the same suit but have one card missing between them or no cards at all.

The last class of cards belongs to those such as low pairs. These are considered to be conditional starting hands. These hands are not really powerful starting hands but can often deliver a win for their holders. These include aces and other low cards that belong to the same suit as well as low suited connectors, which follow the same protocol as described previously.

Texas holdem starting hands ratings are good guides as to how to bet in this game but are not a surety as they odds of getting good hands by the use of conditional starting hands is also good. There is no guarantee in gambling as to who has the better hand.
